Hi! I'm Lottie Rowland - I work across rugby media, communications and partnerships, with a particular focus on the stories the sport doesn't always tell: women's rugby, Pacific rugby, and the culture underneath both.

How I got here

Having grown up in rugby clubs run buy my parents, with few women in positions of power, I naturally sought to fill this gap by crossing my academic abilities with sport. I studied Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick and Sciences Po, where my dissertation looked at rugby's role in diplomacy for the South Pacific — how the game can shape regional identity, culture, people and soft power all at once. This led me to gain international sports communications experience in France, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and the UK.

That question never really left me and it shapes almost everything I've worked on since. I am able to apply all I have learnt across different sectors and modus operandi.

What I do

My work sits at the intersection of content, culture and sport’s wider ecosystem:

  • Partnerships - building authentic relationships between sports organisations, commercial partners and global audiences, combining creativity and strategic thinking to tell compelling stories.

  • Sport Communications - producing engaging content, conducting athlete interviews and delivering media coverage from elite international sporting events.

  • Presenter and Sport Journalism - an experienced interviewer, presenter and digital storyteller connecting fans with athletes, teams and the stories beyond the field.

  • Sport Operations - successfully supporting delivery of an international tournament and rugby programmes.

Different rooms, same thread: making sure sport’s margins get treated like the center of the story, because that's where most of the magic happens.
