BEYOND THE FIELD

Stemming from my First-class dissertation Beyond the Field: Rugby as a Tool for Diplomacy in Shaping Regional Identities in the South Pacific, I started a series that explores everything off the pitch.

This allows me to explore cultures, analysis, trends, comparisons and the growth of rugby beyond the field. Rugby should never be reduced to scores on a board, but everything that occurs around it is just as important, and determines whether/how the game develops.

MĀORITANGA

Exporing the importance and central pillar of the All Blacks and Black Ferns, Māoritanga. Te Ao Māori is a key driver in the morals and foundations of both of the teams, exploring this from an educational and cultural perspective brings a new angle to the synergy and relationship between indigenous cultures and representation in such historic teams. At the centre of my studies, it was a joy to showcase this within the rugby world.
