A full circle moment, I was able to return to Sigatoka where I had stayed in a nearby village two years previously, to cover what is the most exciting tournament to date. Not just incredible rugby on the field, but arguably the best fan experience for locals and visitors I have experienced to date. My task through Counteruck was to ensure, with a skilled videographer, that we were captiring social-first content that higlighted the players’ flair on the pitch, but more importantly connecting with the people off the pitch.

From interviewing players on their favourite food to asking the absolute legends of the game who their all time Sevens star is, my approach was holistic, uplifting, fun and engaging. By highlighting who the players are off the pitch, their humour, personality and energy, we are able to portray this tournament as not just sporting excellence but a must-not-miss sporting event for fans home and abroad.
